Version 1.3.2 contains a neat update with small but very useful improvements:
First of all you can finally load .pdf and .mp3 files from any other app into the Kronos Remote – say you receive an eMail with a songsheet, you can open the mail app, press and hold the attached .pdf file until a menu shows up and select „open in Kronos Remote“. You can now assign this .pdf file to any setlist slot. Also you can delete files from within the KronosRemote app, so you don’t need to use iTunes anymore at all to manage your files (of course you can still drag & drop files from iTunes).
Then we added warning messages when you are about to overwrite setlist on the Kronos or on the iPad… these can be veeery useful 🙂
The .pdf view is now zoomable. If you have the same .pdf file assigned to several consecutive slots, the file will not be reloaded when you change between those slost, so you don’t have to worry about your leadsheet disappearing when a song spreads several slots.
The assigned .mp3 files can now fade in and out if you want – go to the iPad settings app, find the Kronos Remote and adjust the timing for fad-in and fade-out individually. Maybe you want to have a long intro running before a song and want it to fade out slowly as you start playing…
Enjoy the app and leave us some feedback if you like! Also feel free to leave a rating or comment in the app store if you like the app.
Hello,
Feature Request.:
1) load wav with backing tracks
2) Route that audio via usb to kronos output
3) Generate click via bpm tempo.
So you can load your stereo backing track and you know that there is a tempo example 125 BPM. Once you properly cut,(export from daw) the app remoute shoud can, automaticly generate click for that tempo what you will write. (example 125).
4) Make custom click (you can load your short clip wav)
5) Make devsion of that click. 16th,8th, and 4th. (with accent and no accent).
So all idea is, set the song from list. See PDF with sheet, play mp3 with backing tracks, and have separate click for live drummer… If you can program to make a marker (With a part of song on that backing tracks) and manage those on the fly would be awsome app. (like in ableton live).
And all audio comiing to separate output from kronos.
How many we have 6 ?
So … L /R – stanard kronos path.
1/2 – backing stereo trakcs (not L click, and R rest).
3 – click
4 – is free.
What about marker…: you wanna lnger intro just click on that part and you have it… That would be awsome feature…
GL anyway
Hi Kamil, thanks for the input.
1) you can already load .mp3 files as backing tracks / intros into a slot of your setlist and play it from there. I’ll extend that to .wav files in the future – even though noone will hear the difference (not on a live stage) and .wave take a lot of space on your iPad, so .mp3 is basically sufficient.
2) That’s already happening. Actually all audio output of the iPad is routed through USB into the Kronos including playback from your music apps.
3) The click is a good idea, even though the Kronos is already capable of doing exactly this using for example Drumtracks (I actually do that to give our drummer a click when I use delays and effects).
4) – 5) I like the idea but I have to be careful not to overcrowd the interface with a function that is just complementary and not used by everyone. What exactly do you mean by marker? Like having a bar-marker following your music sheet like it’s playing back a midi file and showing the position you’re at?
Again – the Kronos can use Drumtracks to generate a click by playing a drum-patch, therefore you can also load your own samples. You can also route this channel to any of the outputs, add effects on it and everything. I am using exactly the configuration you’re describing on stage, so why wait for an app-update if you already have it 🙂 btw. the Setlist mode has this Realtime Controls bar at the bottom, including a SEQ section with a drumtrack button especially for this 🙂
Cheers Dan
